Bed Assembly Guide
Ottoman Divan Bed
Step 1:
Place both sections of the base on the floor and carefully remove the fabric strap securing the lid during transport. Please note, once the strap is removed, the lid will remain open unless a mattress is placed on top.
Step 2:
After attaching the feet or castors, turn the two parts of the base upright and position them together so the flat ends meet.
Step 3:
Use the provided U-clips to join the two bases together. Place one clip near the top and the other near the bottom to ensure the bases are securely connected.
Step 4:
Connect the lids by using the bolt provided. This will link the two lids together underneath the top section. You may need to pierce the fabric to insert the bolt.
Step 5:
To attach the headboard, pierce the fabric where the locator bolts are. Align the headboard with the base and insert the long bolts. Tighten them securely. For side-lift ottomans, make sure to insert the included spacers between the headboard and the base.
Step 6:
If you have a footboard, simply line up the brackets on the footboard with the brackets on the base and slide them into place.
Step 7:
The ottoman is designed to function with a mattress in place. If the gas struts feel stiff at first when opening and closing, this is normal. They will loosen up and operate more smoothly after a few uses.
Bed Frame
Step 1:
Outline the desired space for the bed and place the headboard in the chosen position. Unscrew all bolts attached to the headboard and footboard using a 13/14mm spanner or socket.
Step 2:
Attach the side panels to the headboard and footboard, then lightly tighten the bolts to hold everything in place.
Step 3:
Insert the wooden support beam into the U-brackets on both the headboard and footboard. Tighten the bolts at all corners as much as possible to secure the frame.
Step 4:
Place the black support boards onto the bed frame, ensuring they are firmly pushed against the headboard. There should be a small gap at the foot of the bed to allow for airflow beneath the mattress.
For Two-Panel Split Headboards:
Please note, as we specialise in bespoke beds, some designs may vary slightly, which could affect these instructions.
Step 1:
Lay both parts of the headboard flat and align them properly in the correct position.
Step 2:
Use the provided bolts and washers to connect the two parts. Insert the bolt into the washer, slide it through the mounting hole, and then tighten it using the appropriate tool. Make sure all bolts are as tight as possible.
Step 3:
For additional headboard support, some beds include two black support beams. Place these beams at each end of the headboard to ensure both parts are evenly supported.
Step 4:
Secure the support beams by drilling the provided screws through the beams and into the headboard.
Metal Slatted Ottoman Bed
Step 1:
Outline the space where the bed will go and position the headboard in the desired spot. Unscrew all the bolts attached to the headboard and footboard using a 13/14mm spanner or socket.
Step 2:
Attach the side panels to the headboard and footboard, tightening the bolts securely to ensure stability.
Step 3:
Remove the pre-installed bolts from the inside of the side panels. Align the gas lift arms on both sides and reinsert the bolts, tightening them back into position.
Step 4:
Attach the gas pistons to both sides. Unscrew the nut, attach the piston, and re-tighten the nut. Make sure the black part of the piston is placed at the bottom.
Step 5:
Open the ottoman slatted frame and place the black support bars on each side to keep the frame extended. Use the 4x Allen key bolts and nuts provided to secure the bars in place.
Step 6:
Attach the mattress stopper at the headboard side by inserting the nuts into the pre-drilled holes provided. These nuts are already in place.
Step 7:
Align the metal slatted frame onto the gas lift arms. Use the 6x screw-head bolts and nuts provided to connect them—3 bolts are required on each side of the frame.
Step 8:
Attach the long metal support bar across the middle using the 4x shorter silver bolts. Insert the bolts into the pre-drilled mounting holes on the side panels to secure the bar.
Step 9:
The bed is designed to function with a mattress in place. If the gas struts feel stiff when opening and closing the ottoman initially, this is normal. The movement will ease up after a few uses.
Divan Bed
Step 1:
Remove the packaging from your divan base and insert the wheels or glides into the slots on the underside of the base.
Step 2:
If the metal link bars are already attached, loosen the screws slightly.
Step 3:
Push the two halves of the base together with enough pressure to ensure they are flush. Then tighten the screws in the metal link bars to secure the bases in place.
Step 4:
Unpack the headboard and attach the legs to the back of the headboard using the 4 screws provided. (This step is not necessary for floor-standing headboards.)
Step 5:
Locate the bolt holes for the headboard on the divan base. Puncture the fabric to insert the headboard bolts.
Step 6:
Lower the headboard onto the bolts, adjust it to the desired height, and hand-tighten the bolts as securely as possible.
Step 7:
After placing your mattress on the divan base, you can easily adjust the headboard height to sit flush with the mattress. Simply loosen the headboard bolts, raise the headboard, and re-tighten the bolts.
